Thomas W. “Tommy” Mayer, has been a police officer since 1978. He is the son of a (late) police officer,
father of a police officer, brother of a police officer and uncle and cousin of police officers.
Tommy’s history within the Fraternal Order of Police includes having served Lodge #15 as not only the current
President, but terms as Vice-President and as Chairman of the Legal Aid Program. He also served two terms
(4 years) as State Executive Vice President, State Labor Committee Chairman and four terms (8 years) as the
State President and remains on the State Executive Board as the Immediate Past President. At the National
level, he served for four (4) years on the National Legislative Committee.
Currently assigned to District 5 of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Tommy holds Life
Membership status for having served on the Executive Board for over ten (10) years. His priorities for Lodge
#15 include maintaining the highest degree of legal protection available to members, staying progressive and
efficient in the operation of the organization and providing strong and professional representation.
